The SEIU Local 221 Election Committee is comprised of rank and file members of Local 221. Per the Local 221 bylaws, they are charged to be the independent supervisors of the Local 221 election, working with and supervising our election contractor, Merriman River Group.
The Election Committee met Saturday, April 11, 2009. The following election officials were in attendance:

Q: What are the average hours an Executive Board member spends per week performing Executive Board duties?
A: Executive Board members may spend between 7 to 12 hours a week performing Executive Board duties, although some weeks it could be more or less.
Q: What days of the week do Executive Board members typically work performing Executive Board duties?
A: Executive Board members may need to work on any day of the week, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Q: How much money are Executive Board members paid for performing their Executive Board duties?
A: Executive Board members do not receive compensation.
Q: Besides time, what are some of the other requirements of Executive Board members?
A: Executive Board members are sometimes asked to travel in or out of the state, which can require an overnight stay. Executive Board members are expected to attend community events and attend six other union-related meetings a year outside Executive Board meetings.
