Eight hours should be enough! We know our work often CANNOT BE completed in eight hours, while we also cannot make ends meet with only eight hours pay at our current wage.
Tell County senior management and executives that they need to staff and pay accordingly, so that we can spend time with our families and pay our bills without constant overtime.
The County can do this by:
✓ Staffing based on a fair-cases-per-worker ratio
✓ Following the recommendation of the Social Services Advisory Board to compare caseload management practices with other counties. Senior managers are currently IGNORING this recommendation
✓ Establishing clear, measurable and accurate standards for timeliness of task completion
✓ Have a transparent case assignment system to ensure the equitable distribution of work
✓ Stop unfairly punishing case workers who can't manage impossible caseloads
We are not required to work overtime. We need to show solidarity and make a statement that we are needed! We ask the County consider the recommendations of its OWN STUDY and make changes accordingly, so that the we really can “make the County work for all!”
