Whereas: California Labor Code Section 2802 states employers must reimburse employees for "all necessary expenditures or losses incurred by the employee in direct consequence of the discharge of his or her duties"
Whereas: the website companymileage.com advises "If the office location has been closed and/or an employee is now working from home, home-based employees have no need to go to the office. In fact, their home can be considered the office (headquarters) location. Therefore, there should be no need to adjust the reimbursable miles by factoring in commuting miles"
Whereas: the revocation of our right to claim mileage using our homes as our headquarters in August has been economically damaging
Whereas: the current procedure for claiming mileage is confusing and burdensome, therefore:
We request the restoration of our right to claim mileage reimbursement using our home as our headquarters, if working from home.
